Inaugural Understanding Dementia Event off to a great start…
It’s been 2 weeks since we announced that the University of South Wales would be hosting the first ‘Understanding Dementia: A Welsh Perspective‘ event and we have been overwhelmed with the support. From likes and shares over on the Facebook page, #USWDEM15 tweets on our Twitter profile, offers for additional speakers, workshops and choirs, through to actual registrations. Thank you!
The conference is scheduled to take place on Thursday 3rd September 2015 at our Glyntaff campus.

Organiser Karyn Davies says,
Here at the University of South Wales work is forging ahead on a number of initiatives that we hope will help shape how people living with dementia are supported and cared for, in particular by our nurses of the future. Brief examples include: The development of a Dementia Education Strategy; Under graduate nursing students from all fields are becoming Dementia Friends; development of community engagement, collaborative working with the third sector, in addition to the creation of this conference.
