Understanding Dementia Learning Event – Target Reached!
We are delighted to have reached our target of 100 delegates now registered to attend the Understanding Dementia: A Welsh Perspective learning event, scheduled to take place at our Caerleon (Newport) campus on Thursday 3rd September 2015.

Dementia is one of the biggest global public health challenges facing our generation. This event aims to bring together a wide range of people with a common interest in the Care and Support of people living with Dementia in Wales. #USWDEM15
The inaugural event has attracted several high profile speakers from the health industry, to include:
- Dr Les Rudd, Public Health Wales
- Dr Bernadette Fuge OBE, Chair – Age Cymru
- Sue Phelps, Director – Alzheimer’s Society Wales
- Robert Colgate, Consultant Psychiatrist – Abertawe Bro Morgannwg University Health Board
We will also be joined by David Clayton, Head of Protection & Advocacy – Welsh Government and representatives from the University of South Wales.
The afternoon features five workshop sessions from organisation such as Abertawe Bro Morgannwg University Health Board, My Home Life Cymru, Re-Live and Event Organiser Karyn Davies, Senior Lecturer, Mental Health Nursing – University of South Wales.
